Obligatory Google Graveyard link: https://killedbygoogle.com/
Is this really a Google Graveyard body, or is it more that they moved podcast downloads from one app towards another?

> Podcasts on YouTube Music in the US already include access to downloads, background play in places like the car and on smart speakers

It looks more like consolidating competing apps to me.

For many people, me included, having podcasts separate is a benefit. They’re quite different from music.
I'd consider this killing off because I'm sure the interface will not be the same as the one currently used by the Podcasts app.
So background play in _select_ cases.

Sounds like another regression like when they removed music sync from smart watches when they killed google music and there was no current or eta for an alternative with YT music.

Never again google, not for me.

Long live Garmin and Pocket Casts for me.

I tried Podcasts and loved it..but there it goes.

We really need to stop using Google's new products in whole. Management doesn't care about product support or lifespan. If you want to use something and be able to depend on it, Google isn't for you.

As a user of the Google Podcasts app, I don't support this decision, but it somewhat makes sense since there has been a trend to make a companion video version of podcasts
I should've learned already to not rely on Google for anything other than paid for and search. Fool me twice...
