I’ve been working as a technology consultant for the past 15 years. I have had the chance to work with a lot of very successful companies.
Almost every time I have heard Cloudflare discussed in a client engagement for the past several years it was in a negative light and large groups of people see you as an enabler of the worst shit out there online and are looking to avoid working with you or having anything to do with you.
I know it’s easy in your own bubble to feel like it’s just angry commenters online when you get that kind of criticism but these are real conversations from people with huge budgets.
That reputational damage might not show up in your KPIs but I am continually running into it. I just had a conversation with a client as recently as 3 hours ago about how they thought of you as indistinguishable from Elon Musk.
This article becomes significantly easier to read after the Reveal Bullshit [1] plugin. For example: As Bullshit queries get more personal, sending them all to some centralized bullshit is a bullshit security and data locality disaster waiting to happen.
