Ask HN: Why AA Inflight WiFi network stuck into my phone forever?

So, a few years ago I took an American Airlines flight. I used their Wifi service connecting their plane wifi network called “AA Inflight”. All good.

But something weird keep happening since then, all these years later.

Every single time I have to connect to a new wifi network that requires password, after I select the name of the new network in my phone and before I enter the password, the selected network has sneakily changed to “AA Inflight”.

A few additional info:

- I did the action to “forget” AA inflight network several times.

- The AA network does not even show up in the list of available networks when I am selecting.

- It only happens with new networks that I never connected to before.

- After the sneak change to AA, if I cancel the password entering and go back to reselect the network that I wanted to, it works fine. I stay in the correct network.

- I only used the AA network once in my life.

- My phone is an iPhone SE 2nd generation.

So, any ideas why AA inflight network infected my phone as a malware?
