I quit socializing because everyone uses social media. Updating your profile, following with people constantly always felt like work, not socializing, at least to me. I feel socializing should have an element of being spontaneous and also not recorded. Now when you do meet, you create a log of communications, record the entire event, while people multitask on their phones. When socializing becomes a task, I'm out.

Giving a kid a smartphone today is akin to child abuse.
