[ 3.0 ms ] story [ 602 ms ] threadI favour efficiency over complexity, and I'm a strong advocate for free & open-source software (I maintain several NPM packages on GitHub). I also believe that remote work is mutually beneficial, having worked remotely with international teams for the past 6 years.
I'd rather avoid sectors like crypto and finance (though I've shipped a few cryptographic products unrelated to finance), and would prefer to work on products that have a net-zero carbon impact.

I'm a full stack software engineer with strong fundamentals in programming and web technologies. I enjoy thinking about infrastructure, networking, and data. I consider myself a generalist when it comes to tech stack—I'm proficient in multiple stacks, and I enjoy picking up new tech to solve a specific problem. My biggest strength is that I enjoy the process of solving hard problems.
Most recently, I worked with a remote team to develop a framework for testing microservice API integrations. If you want to know more, I authored a technical case study exploring the problem space and our solution: https://signet-framework.dev/case-study
I'm looking for a new opportunity—feel free to reach out if you think I may be a good fit for your team!

I am a software developer currently working in the telecommunications industry, but I am eager to explore new opportunities and expand my horizons. Although my primary interests are in network programming and game development, I am open to other challenges if they give me an opportunity to grow and develop myself as a programmer. My interests are diverse, as showcased by my portfolio of personal projects, which can be found at https://theshoemaker.de/projects. Generally though, I am mostly interested in systems programming roles.

I'm a systems programmer by origin, though I'm certainly happy working in other domains. My biggest strength is being able to acclimate to new technologies and codebases quickly; in the past I've worked on Linux kernel hardening, static program analysis, compilers, and infrastructure/ops. Open to short-term contracts or longer-term employment.
Outside of that, I’m a hacker and TypeScript and functional programming wizard. I’ve made extensive Open source contributions in PureScript and JavaScript, and even gotten shoutouts in deep functional programming papers. I have been giving talks, organizing meetups and hackathons in my home city of Tbilisi.
I have about ten years of software engineering under my belt, including six years working remotely for U.S. startups. I’m looking for a small-to-medium size team. Ideally we would start remotely, but I would be open to moving to New York or San Francisco. I’m at my best working with people who are optimistic and driven, where everyone’s all about teamwork and helping each other grow.
Technologies: Python with Django/Flask, DRF, SQL, HTML, CSS, JS basics, Git, Linux, Docker, API

My name is Damian and I'm junior web developer with no prior commercial experience. I've been learning programming for over half year now, after transitioning form architectural industry. My preference is back-end job but I'm happy with doing full-stack too. You can check out my projects either on GitHub, LinkedIn or my portfolio page.
I have designed, built, and deployed many software systems from scratch. I have also scaled and improved existing solutions to better align with business needs. I am comfortable in a variety of programming languages (and their associated toolsets) such as Clojure/Java, Elixir/Erlang, and Javascript/Node. Given the choice, I prefer small teams working on simple solutions in a functional ecosystem.
I bring the most value to a team when working directly with stakeholders and subject matter experts. By immersing myself in a domain, I serve as a hands-on partner adept at solving core business problems and overseeing the execution of a software strategy.
I've touched far more technologies than I could reasonably list here (or even remember), but my primary strength isn't any of them: it's being able to step into a role, work with stakeholders to understand the business priorities, find the gaps in the current coverage, and make the world a little more robust.
I've masqueraded as a technical writer (see discussion of one of my favorite blog posts at https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6722408 — all of my Basho posts are archived at https://web.archive.org/web/20170801133203/http://basho.com/...), presented at conferences about NoSQL data modeling, Apple MDM, Erlang, immutability, and logical time (but not concurrently), jumped in to help my employer with a NLP project in my evenings and weekends, created a WebSphere deployment DSL, trained co-workers on TCP/IP and UNIX, and written kernel software (but not for, admittedly, a very long time).
(At Basho I started copy-editing their marketing materials while still in the hiring process; that was a lesson in keeping my head down, but fortunately they hired me anyway.)
Let me make your life a little bit easier.
As a mathematician, I am used to tackling hard problems without established solutions. I learn quickly, and through years of teaching and presenting my research I am also good at communicating complex ideas. I've been programming for most of my life, and often use computer experiments in my mathematical research. Some projects are on my website. I have also worked in the industry a bit before my PhD (on simulation software in C++ and C#).
I especially enjoy relatively low-level programming, performance optimization, Linux kernel development, embedded devices, and similar things. More recently, I started reading about and experimenting with machine learning (my math background is useful there).
Remote: Yes
Willing to relocate: No
Technologies: Javascript, Node.js, React, Redux, Meteor, Mongo DB, Material UI, Bootstrap
