I'm confused. How does this writer believe businesses exist?
A quick google suggests the game had an all-in 60m loss. And every year they continue to operate it, they have to pay a static amount of money to Disney. For licensed content, I'm not sure why you wouldn't just kill it? For in-house content, sure, you're only paying for maintenance which you can scale up/down. But for licensed content you have to pay the owner their due regardless of the game's success.
