Twitter/X has removed article headlines on links shared to the platform (twitter.com) 12 points by publius_0xf3 2y ago ↗ HN
[–] racked 2y ago ↗ What could be the reason for this? Is it a bug? I'm all for less clickbaity titles, but having no title is vague too. [–] publius_0xf3 2y ago ↗ Not a bug. Ostensibly, Musk wants to fit more tweets on a page, but that could be accomplished by putting the title on the image. Really, he just wants people to stay on Twitter and ignore external links. [–] netsharc 2y ago ↗ So... if (userAgentIsTwitterPreviewBot() && weCareAboutTheShitFlingingIdiotsDyingPlatform()) { return previewImageWithBurnedInCaption(); } It might not even need code, just some extra HTML: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44525446/image-social-me...
[–] jayveeone 2y ago ↗ Weird: tried posting this link to Threads and it said "link not allowed" they're blocking links now?
