Hi HN,

What is the future of Libre/FOSS after heavy weights like Torvalds, Stallman etc. retire?

I care a lot about libre/FOSS and I'm wondering what happens after such important figures retire? How do we as a community keep it going?

Sorry if this is an old question, I'm relatively new to Libre/FOSS

For Linus, I suggest looking for some forum posts for "what if Linus gets hit by a bus?" questions. And for RMS, he states on his website[1] that working on GNU would be his long-term committment.
