Have you ever lost data on your smartphone due to flash memory degradation?

For those with many years old phones: I'm curious if anyone here has ever lost data on their smartphone. Flash memory is supposed to leak electrons over time, so after a few years, files should become corrupted. I've seen this with USB pen drives but never with smartphone memory even on the oldest phones.

What's the difference?
