I don’t know very much about the Israel/Palestine situation outside of what I learned in high school, so I have no idea who’s morally in the right… but assembling a list like this with the express purpose of rendering a bunch of college kids unemployable seems like gross behavior.
I had plenty of stupid opinions when I was 19, and I certainly have some today that I’ll cringe at in the future. It’s my hope that I’ll be able to grow and learn, and not have someone try to ruin my life or career over them.
I agree that it’s unlikely this will mess up their lives much. I’m more criticizing the intent - “a guide for employers” seems to me like the intent is to make it hard for these people to find a job which feels to me like gross behavior.
The comments in this section are despicable. Making this list and including the student’s names is deeply disturbing and quite frankly, completely undermines your quest to spread awareness about the atrocities being committed in Palestine/Israel. Please refrain from being hateful, and also remember that this “conflict” has wrought violence and catastrophe for seventy-five years. The selective outrage is quite spectacular.
