How does Krita compare to the current painting tools on the market?

As software, Krita seems pretty nice, albeit with a little bit of a rough UI. But the website and release notes IMO don't really excite or inspire compared to a lot of the other art tools. (Not trying to demean anybody's hard work, just giving a casual artist's opinion)
