Shocker, creating music costs money.

Which one is it?

1) Spotify isn't paying copyright holders enough.

2) The free Spotify version is too limited.

3) Pay Joe Rogan and other hot garbage 100's of millions of dollars
Ah, that's what you're upset about. They probably paid more to the Obamas and those british royalties, in case that's any consolation.

I cancelled too, btw. I found myself only listening to stuff pushed via their ML playlists and not much else.

At the moment I'm back to listening to my 80s/90s/00s CDs (but ripped to FLAC).

Perhaps you could profit by re-inventing Spotify, in that case?
I dig Soundcloud very much because their recommendations algorithms actually suggest the type of music i like. But they don't offer the Premium plan in my region and a lot of songs are for some reason region locked in my country.
