California just passed a law that I think should be nationalized to address this issue.
Combined with earlier laws that give you the legal right to build a jadu and an ADU on your property (provided they fit) I genuinely see it as a common sense approach we can do now to lowering the cost of housing.
If we have a downturn it’s going to go from the current unacceptable level to completely terrible and it’s honestly already a serious crisis.
