They've raised $670 million???

It's a SaaS product. In what world would they need close to that much money? Am I missing something?

Or do companies really just raise as much money as possible, and hire assuming they'll be endlessly exponentially growing, regardless of what they need to build their product?

You raise money to hire talent, market your product, and secure optionality in case iteration #1 doesn’t work out.

The more money you have, the better you can do each of those individual things.

“Just a SaaS” is reductive.
