Here's another take: Climate scientists are paternalistically lying about our ability to stave off climate change. We're going to 2 degrees and more, too many lemmings to steer away from the cliffs. We're not meaningfully pulling back on a number of measures of pollution. The food web is looking quite threatened and no one's meaningfully protecting it. No generation currently alive is looking at a better deal or outcome in the next 10 years or ever, environmentally or economically, unless you're in that top 1%. So eat delicious food (all the disappearing fish, no one's keeping those around, all the fatty and sugary stuff), enjoy alcohol and life-shortening drugs, and check out happy. Yolo.
