If you are having trouble getting a remote job....drop your resume off at the North Korean embassy for them to give it some polish. Clearly they know something about getting hired at least.
It’s all about the costs. You too can get such remote job if you accept $20 per hour and no benefits.
There have been claims of North Korea counterfeiting money, and producing meth.

Doing honest work seems like an improvement, even if they concealed their origins. They presumably even had to educate some citizens to make it work.

Sure better than ransomware but this is terrible news for anyone else doing contracting with external clients.

This in addition to all those impersonation scams will force remote contracting work further and further into a low-trust economy mindset where everyone checks everything. Which obviously adds friction and makes it overall a lot less enjoyable.
