meh, another risk-adverse culture. hidi-ho.
The social aspect can't be underestimated. It can be a little frustrating when people assume you're unemployed (and lazy/irresponsible) as opposed to working on a startup - that might actually create a valuable product and employment for others. On a related note, I've realised that one of the reasons the USA grew to be what it is, is people's healthy attitude towards risk and reward.
Super enlightening. I am about to make the transition from Silicon Valley back to India. I hope to start something of my own.
