Show HN: Preneur – stop searching for startup ideas (preneur2023.vercel.app)

As an aspiring entrepreneur, I would dread searching for startup ideas; trying to think of the next big thing. I was frustrated that aspiring founders had a really limited toolset to deal with this issue.

This is why I built Preneur; a platform that connects entrepreneurs to people and communities with problems. We help entrepreneurs find problems to solve, validate their ideas and build their solutions.

Appreciate the concept of bridging the gap between problem-holders and problem-solvers. Beyond this, are there plans to expand into the realm of idea/solution validation? Also, while it's clear you're connecting entrepreneurs to community problems, have you thought about reversing that flow? Identifying community problems and then actively presenting them to entrepreneurs might widen the impact. This could potentially cater not just to newer entrepreneurs but anyone with a knack for problem-solving, irrespective of their scale.
In response to the question about idea validation. Entrepreneurs will be able to connect with communities and pitch their ideas. I am looking to implement a feature where you can create a 'solution poll', where entrepreneurs can create a poll which presents their solution, and the community will be able to vote on whether the idea solves their problem.

Regarding your second point, I think I may have not been clear but Preneur essentially allows people and communities to post their problems, allowing others who also experience the same problem to upvote it. Problem solvers (irrespective of their scale) can view the list of problems and solve the ones they choose.

You need to supply some eggs to attract the chickens.

In other words go find some problems and post them on there, it is looking a bit empty!

True but it is in beta and I literally launched this morning.

I have to see whether or not people like the product or not. In order to see this, I have to allow users to test the product without my intervention. It answers one of my key assumptions which is people and communities are willing to post their problems on Preneur.

I obviously am willing to post but I can be biased.

While it is good to be natural I think most people will bounce when they see nothing.

You could find examples on Reddit etc. to prime some good examples. Then say you got them from Reddit but at least there is something to read and come back for.

Talking about having no problems, the first problem has been posted (not by me).
I would love for this to be democratized and offer regular-ass people the abillity to use their own niche-experiences to create income on their side but also to provide either startup ideas or help existing solutions fix their shit in a more systematic and global way
Yeah, that will be a great idea.

Another reason why I started Preneur was because it brings entrepreneurs closer to market reality. The time and effort of entrepreneurs is allocated efficiently for the market and this creates a huge surplus of value.

"Don't be a taker: be a Preneur ;)"

Edit: its always been sorta interesting to me that "entrepreneur" seems to literally translate at "between-taker" even if its only coincidental or a false-friend thingy

Lol might need to use that phrase more 'Don't be a taker: be a Preneur'.

Kinda sounds like something Andrew Tate would say tbh.

Never heard any of his stuff but ya have at it. Glad I said something interesting for once ;)
You seem interesting from the start tbh. Can you follow me on Twitter? I want to talk more about the idea above.

I dont really mix anonymous online stuff like this with like identifying social media unfortunately. Allows me to explore and make mistakes and hopefully get my shit together ;)

Thats nice of you to say though. Im a little embarassed by my recent antics but I know I need to fix things :(

I really do wish you good luck in going ahead with Preneur. Excited to see how you do and def feel free to use that if its helpful or the smart people say its ok

If you wanna like message thru this like we have been thats cool, my thing doesnt really do DM/PM (dont even know if HN has that functionality) but again, just comment on my thing and I should see it eventually. Don't think I'm gonna be super helpful or insightful but I always try

Thank you for your comments. I appreciate it.

I will be sure to get in touch if I need anything.

Probably be careful with the Tate stuff. He's sort of falling out of fashion and I don't know you want him and his baggage associated in any with your startup
