Why (and how) to put notebooks in production (ploomber.io)

I think this well written article deserves a discussion.

I feel like I am slowly heading towards this debate in my current job.

If nothing else please read first section "A brief history of notebooks" to understand why they bring something unique to the table, not only as a data exploration tool.
