Bad actors who abuse power often seek to delegitimize the structures that bind us together for their own short-sighted gain. Call them fascists or whatever pejorative you prefer, but the general anti-social bent in their behavior makes it clear that they can only truly be stopped by force.
It's a shame these disputes usually end in catastrophic violence, but the aggregate behavior of humans hasn't been altered by technology, only exaggerated.
It’s been my lifetime hope that there is another way through obsolescence and irrelevance. If a people have a self-sovereign mechanism for self-defense and economic participation, then the cost of conquering them is far greater than the extractable value.
The Gaza situation is circular. Hamas committed and continued to commit atrocities (and has done so for decades). It then uses Israeli retaliation for its own propaganda.
It is currently setting up roadblocks in Gaza to prevent civilians from moving south away from the targeted areas. Their own people are just human shields for their religious insanity.
The facts in this situation couldn't be more clear. There are no two sides here. The Hamas is evil and it is killing Palestinians. Yes, Israel isn't exactly pure of heart. But it's pretty clear that the Hamas must be destroyed for the sake of everyone in the region (including the Palestinians).
No. They are building roadblocks to prevent civilians from going south. Israel declared an evacuation of the north but the Hamas is forcing civilians to stay there as human shields.
If Israel wanted to harm civilians it wouldn't declare its targets for bombing and invasion. That's a stupid military strategy that puts the Israeli soldiers at risk.

You mean that they're preventing civilians from going to an area Israel is bombing anyways?
