This review is so long that it is actually a good substitute for reading the actual book. It covers the main points, and skips over hours of fluff, such as Lewis's constant personality analysis of SBF.
Also I think it importantly touches on how Lewis is overly dismissive of the severity of the crime here.
Odd format for a review, really seems like it should be labeled as notes on the book (or cliff notes of particular topics). The literal hero worship for John Ray in this is strange to me. As is that audio clip where John Ray misinterprets the question, says he didn't help Michael Lewis with the book (even though he clearly did in the quoted sections of the book), and then seems to make fun of Lewis for eating dinners with SBF.
I read this several days ago on Zvi’s substack: fantastic analysis that I don’t think many others have. The rational community has pretty good insight, given how much the ethical altruism community overlaps.
