What's really interesting is the zero mention of the fact that cockney isn't just an accent but a people with a distinct culture from a specific area. Those people and/or that culture have been seemingly displaced - there's no mention of the persistence of the cultural aspects in those cockney areas despite accent changes.

I'll have to go and watch some Dave Angel sketches to get my fill of the accent.
