I can only reconcile this statement with mine if you are focusing on YouTube's intent and I am focusing on their effect. In effect, regardless of intent, they are obviously informing the wider world about this. For you to deny this seems to mean that you value the intent a lot more than the result.
No they're not; that's what local media does, with varying levels of quality. They are no more informing people about it than Nikocado is promoting healthy eating.
