Everyone except developers uses their smartphone (yeah right)

Or so I was told. The argument usually goes like: I have N friends and all are using smartphones only. I even encountered something in tune here on HN. Today I walked into some trendy cafe with like 20 tables being occupied. Most of those were on laptops. I do not think they were "working remotely" as no one was really "abusing" keyboard or mouse. By the look they were either reading or watching some videos.

Most of those people have a smartphone. I'm the rare mobile app developer who doesn't own a smartphone, in the sense of one with a plan, but I have a huge number of trash Androids without a plan that usually aren't charged and that I'd have to plug into the wall two or three times for them to really charge.
