Ask HN: Apple TimeMachine for Backups? 1 points by OnlyMortal 2y ago ↗ HN I realise there are third party tools for backup on the Mac but are any of you using TimeMachine to a NAS/Disk? If not, what is the thinking?
[–] bhyahoo 2y ago ↗ Yes, to a Synology, and to an external HD, and it works wonderfully.Also have Backblaze installed, so there's my 3-2-1 backup coverage.
[–] wmf 2y ago ↗ I've used it successfully. My Mac died and I restored the Time Machine backup onto a new Mac perfectly.
