I love this
It's a reminder that software used to be less serious-business all the time.
My favourite was Winamp. It really whips the llama's ass.
I don't condone clippy but admit I had this configured to be played every time winamp started.
I wonder who would win a rap battle: Wesley Willis or Kool Keith.
A “silly indulgence” indeed. Oh, I’ve been guilty of similar stunts, as a teenager in the webmaster era.

Pairing needed utility with that one deliberate absurdity they’ll never forget.

Thus exorcising the ghost of professionalism.

Happy Halloween!

Some people just hate fun.
That is my thought. Some people take themselves too seriously and just suck at life. Then there is the culture of "no" who tell everyone else what they can't do or can't think, and attempt to control people as perfunctory automatons who must bend to their illiberal, intolerant worldview.

Easter eggs, art, and comedic flair should be encouraged. (Sad clippy made me laugh.)
