Tell HN: After new YouTube adblocker policy, I can't stand using it

I'm finding myself closing the tab, more and more often, before the forced pre-roll commercials even complete, even for videos that I'm kind of interested in watching.

For videos I'm very interested in watching, I usually make it through, but then there will be abrupt forced commercials in the middle, and I just can't, and my hand reaches for ctrl+w..

I feel like we really lost something this time. Do you think there will be a good video platform in the future, or will we start downloading youtube videos without the commercials from our favorite creators on the pirate bay ?

I simply pay for it now, since I deem it internet culturally too important to simply give up on it.

YT must be feeling pressured by the cost-side of things. Storage doesn't get infinitely cheap after all.

But yeah, I download things I want to preserve since some years now, in case things go awry.
