Show HN: Podsumer – A Self Hosted Podcatcher (github.com)

13 points by macinjosh ↗ HN
Podsumer subscribes to your podcast feeds and downloads them to your server for serving/listening from there. It can serve its own feeds to be used in your podcast app(s). Finally, it features a web based player for listening from anywhere. I run this behind gluetun so that feed and media downloads happen over VPN.

I am an avid self-hoster. I made this podcatcher to handle my podcast listening needs. My goal isn't to make something that looks super slick, just something that is useable and gets the job done. I could really use some feedback from other self-hosting podcast listeners!

I have been using Audiobookshelf for this purpose, but I’m going to give this a go. Congratulations on putting this together
I am kinda embarrassed to have to admit I hadn't heard of Audiobookshelf before. Looks like a very nice project/product!
What a great opportunity for integrating some kind of "sponsorblock" technique as the files go by. Same, but different, for inserting chapter markers in the files in some way
Adding this idea to the backlog, thanks :)
