IMHO testers have a uniquely evil nature, that I as a 20+year developer can't cultivate. They are the devil, and break everything they touch. And I love every one of them.
They often know how to use the app in ways I couldn't even think of. They ask questions I wouldn't think of. They worry about things that wouldn't occur to anyone with an ounce of compassion.
Without them in place we as devs are really just letting our customers be the QA. We need them and I for one respect the hell out of them all.
