It has got to be bad. Everyone is pushing more broken updates everyday. We should have January be a national pay-down-tech-debt-month.

Sounds like a standard bug bash. I was thinking like it would be more like a quarter.
At this point one year would make the most sense.

I loathe updating my iDevices nowadays (and have completely stopped wasting time on betas et al). Every update fixes one thing, breaks another. Silly stuff too like: oh, on your Apple Watch the heart monitor complification is gone. It's been there for ten years, yes yes, but now it's gone. Just wait a few weeks, we'll bring it back. Enjoy those 'other' bugfixes in the meantime!

They should probably move to a "tick tock" cadence for macOS releases.

So they alternate years between rolling out new features in one year, then fix the damn things so they work properly the next year.
