I figured since the headline included the word "Tech" and not "Software" that the Zune and all other dedicated portable music players that aren't also internet/cellular communication devices would have been on the list.
(I miss my iRiver portable MP3 and FLAC player that could also record CD-quality WAVs via a mic port... that was a super-handy little device!)
(OP here) That’s a good shout. I had a Medion mp3 player sometime around then I should have included. All 256MB of storage. Same with the early USB sticks.
Well, Ubuntu, gmail, CSS, HTTPS, Firefox and so on are still alive and in daily use. If you want to say that they slid off the hype curve, better, IMO.
I note that HybridLogic hasn't abandoned HTTPS. "-)
I've got some of that old tech, Too many things to list. I try to keep stuff working. like the click-wheel iPod, the one that's about 2 by 3 inches.
