Why did this get nuked? I’m no expert on the region, but it seemed about as unbiased of an opinion on the conflict as is currently possible.

If there are members of the community that feel strongly about this article misrepresenting something I’d be very interested in hearing those points of view to help educate myself.

the article presents the most cynical israeli perspective from the outset and it's not till the very end that the author considers that palestinians may have legitimate grievances. the author still uses personal biases and partisan sources to discredit/dismiss the palestinian cause (representing israel as wanting peace and palestinians as being inherently violent).
It is admirable to want an accurate picture of what’s going on with Palestine, but I’d caution against using posts like the OP as a good source. Consider starting, at the very least, with thing like UN Human Rights commission reports, Human Rights Watch, etc. Beyond that, Western media and governments generally have an extremely pro-Zionist bias, so if you want balance you need to look for it. Consider some of Norm Finkelstein and Ilan Pappe’s work.
First, thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt on the internet as I know that can be hard these days. I have no idea who OP is so its totally possible I got caught by propaganda.

My read of the article was that it seemed like a historically based account of the current situation with some fairly obvious bias/editorialization mixed in so I was interested to see what other folks would post in response.

I’ll absolutely look into both of those authors for more background.

It was horribly slanted with pro-Israel propaganda

It also has nothing to do with tech.
