Over about a year, 30 women that were missed by 2 specialist radiologists had their cancers detected, and actioned for treatment with AI.

General Article - https://www.ft.com/content/d3b462a3-8085-43d7-9e37-a78564907...

Context:

- Europe has a double reader standard (2 human radiologists read every screening case)

- AI (Mia) was used only after both human readers had submitted their opinion (AI was after standard of care)

Headline metrics:

- Mia increased cancer detection rate by 13% (20% of missed cancers overall)

- 83% of cancers were invasive (can spread through body)

- 47.0% were <10mm (generally harder to detect and earlier in development)
