Ask HN: Did Bing Chat recently introduce a 2021 knowledge cutoff?

I’ve been using bing chat a lot the last few months, and yesterday it gave me a clearly outdated response and I was startled, because it was the first time it had given me a wrong answer. Today I notice numerous times it mentioning it had a 2021 knowledge cutoff, which I had never seen before.

when/why did this happen? anyone else notice this?
