Probably under worst terms for him, he will be "allowed" to return after relinquishing some things. This episode of Game of AI Thrones will be an interesting one.
I sincerely doubt that. At the very least, he'll ask for the board (of the OpenAI non-profit that controls the For-profit LLC) to be significantly expanded so as to dilute the power of be board members who ousted him.
Alternately, he might demand the resignation of the entire board as a condition of him returning.
Interesting. Seems like this team isn’t interested in ending careers, but you can’t go back into a company without changing the circumstances that got you removed, which usually involves people leaving or changing power structures at a minimum.
What framework changes the situation adequately to allow a return? What is the loving and fair way to do something like this after such a big error in judgement like this?
I can see the obvious cleaning house and structural changes, but doing this ethically while preserving your own morality and preventing recurrence like Sam would and needs to do respectively (from my proxy understanding of him) is a challenging prospect.
