I also don't believe Musk is investing enough in xAI for it to actually compete with the big guys. His play here is to make some average models, and beef them up through marketing and promising the universe (literally, if you open their site). In other words, the usual with him.
Goal being: make X more attractive for investors, and probably try xAI IPO.
