As a non-sports person just being able to know if SOMA will be a mess or not is perfect.

Exactly. I'd say this site is even more useful avoiding traffic and transit delays during home games.

I actually wonder if MLB would have issues (Giants trademark, etc) with a site like this and try to shut it down.

I can say without a doubt that they would.

I've had run ins with MLB for using commercially using my own photos from games that had team logos visible in them.

It's a much easier way to get a answer, quickly since the mlb sites are fairly busy and not great on mobile.

Why did this get voted up on HN?

Because it's a simple, fun idea.
