I don’t know anything about Lobste.rs except what I read in this thread: from what I’ve read in one of the comments it sounds like it’s an online community with a membership approval process designed to appear selective in order to project an elite image. The fact that you’d come to HN to ask for an invite to such a community, and get it in the third comment tells you just how awesome HN community actually is.
