Opposite of FI/RE? How to spend to increase work happiness?

I realize that I don't fit in with the FIRE folks, I like my job and want to continue working even if I have financial independence.

I also feel like one of the best investments would be making my job and life as enjoyable as possible, so I want to continue working.

So for example, I've bought a nice keyboard, I like having a decent enough car to make my (short) commute enjoyable. I really like having high end headphones so I can maximize my music enjoyment while working.

What other ways can I invest in making work enjoyable?

What is the least enjoyable aspect of your job?

Is always wanting _something more_ to "make" your job enjoyable? If so, perhaps the best thing to do is to learn to enjoy what you have today?

Good points, it is important to have gratitude for what you have.

However, I do notice I look forward to work a little bit more when I have some nice headphones and a pleasant keyboard. I was surprised spending a bit more on those things made life quite a bit better.

So, I wondered if there were other things I hadn't thought of.

Sounds like you're more into 'bring your own equipment' policies than FIRE or whatever the opposite of that is. You might look into optimizing what field you're working in (like do you want to work for a bank, a game dev, a healthcare company, or oil company, etc.), or what your day-to-day duties are.
This dude (it’s always dudes, isn’t it?) is writing an anti-fire manifesto: https://independentlypoor.com/

Or at least a blog about having fun while spending less, and continuing to work, albeit part-time.
