Would you like to automate PR reviews using an AI assistant?

I know that conventional wisdom is that PR reviews are essential for engineers' learning and important to ensure that we are in the loop about what other engineers on your team are working on (plus checks and balances, of course). However, the amount of time it takes to review some of the PRs makes me question if this should be done differently so that we, as engineers, can focus on higher-level, more important, and creative work.

Sharing knowledge and helping other people grow (through code review as well) IS “more important, and creative work”. So no, I’d like to keep it as human as possible and wouldn’t want to touch AI with a ten-foot pole for this purpose.

Yes. The act of parsing code for yourself, for gisting it, and thinking about it - that's what makes you think better and build skill. Discussing why and different ways of doing it with others - that builds team wisdom. AI might help with organizing a review and timeboxing, clerical support, but the actual work of the review should be left to people.
