I have been working remotely for less than a year and I relate to the article,
Remote work it's not a better way to work in all the possible ways. It has it's own pros and cons.
I don't want to list the things that worked for me, there are plenty of articles that do a better job at it. But there is one principle I want to share: know yourself. Pause sometimes and ask yourself "how am I doing".
Dude, its work. Regardless of where and how hard you are whistling, its work. Youre trading your life for dollars. Your point at wherever you work is to produce ... could be pulling carrots or hitting a keyboard but youre selling your time. Dont expect to enjoy it. Wake up
That's my philosophy. I do only what I was hired to do. I start when I'm supposed to and I end when I'm supposed to. Take my dog for a walk everyday at lunch.
If my employer wants to complain that I'm not going above and beyond, let them complain. As long as my job is getting done and the checks keep being deposited, I can deal with it. It's only work. These people aren't my parents, I don't care about them.
I've gotten twice as much done around the house since remote working 3 years ago. Can't wait to tap out of shitty job and ride into the sunset. 4 more years is all I need.

Respond honestly.
Then take actions to improve that.

it isn’t fun because that doesn’t most benefit them, and they ain’t you.
