The article makes some decent points, but to the assertion that "Doing Work Outside of Work is Fucking Stupid" I reply that many things people do in their spare time are "stupid". AoC participants enjoy competing and flexing the programming muscles, or they would not do it. Some try to learn a new programming language by using it for AoC.

The comment that "this is the worst time of the year" hits it on the head.

How about the "New Years Resolutions of Code" instead?
