I'm sharing this so people are aware. I received a blackmail email yesterday, demanding Bitcoin (of course) in exchange of deleting my data.
Funny thing is, I've never been to Fred Hutch, and the sample data they sent me is outdated - so I suspect they got it from the 2017 Equifax leak instead.
Never interact with these people nor pay the ransom - report it to the FTC instead: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/
