Tell HN: Upgrading to Android 14 (OneUI 6) almost doubled battery usage of AOD

A few days ago I was happy to see that my phone (Samsung S22) received the system notification for upgrading it to Android 14. However, I was quickly disappointed by the new Always On Display (AOD) design the new OneUI 6 provides. Sure, it's true that it now enables some customization, including the ability to change clock style. However it's impossible to change the font to the thin one (I believe it was Roboto Condensed Thin [1]) that was used in Android 13. Instead, it appears to be using the system font, and not the thin variant of it, but the default. Because of the bolder clock font, a significantly larger fraction of the screen is illuminated. And sure enough, it impacts the battery usage. On Android 13 AOD accounted for 6.7% of battery usage on my phone, whereas now it accounts for 11%, almost double of what it was before.
