It's hard to take this seriously without any reference to returning Israeli hostages. Taking and holding hostages is a form of hostility. If one wants to "end hostilities" that means everybody stops being hostile.
I don't like drawing false equivalences, whataboutisms, and all of the other ways to distract attention from the very real problems going on in Gaza. But this began with a truly horrific set of atrocities and a call for more. When people fail to mention them, to me it sounds less like "We want peace" and more like "We want a chance to repeat the atrocities".
