I feel like tech generally doesn't represent the majority of the US. However, I don't believe quotas are the right way to do it. Active community engagement is the only way to get those numbers in line with modern demographics.

Interestingly for open source is the statement by Redhat on the call that multiple leaders were terminated and held accountable for not following DEI guidance on hiring. Depending on political point of view either something to celebrate or something to be upset about.

What is interesting is the level of commitment at IBM to DEI. Focus was on getting white / asian numbers down and hispanic / black up? I didn't listen to full thing.
