How Do I Learn?

1 points by nukemarss ↗ HN
I always wonder how to approach the study of a subject, such as Mathematics, for example. I want to self-learn it, but I'm unsure of how to begin. Which books should I read, and where can I find them? With hundreds of books available, I aim to learn in a sequential and progressive manner, starting from arithmetic and progressing to the graduate level. Similarly, for biology, I am uncertain about where to start and how to proceed. What books should I read to cover the subject comprehensively from beginning to end?

Ask 3-5 domain experts to share their experience on that.

If a book comes up multiple time start with it and then iterate on that knowledge.

You can also look for a university syllabus about the topic to get an overview.

For math, the first step is to know how to prove math statements. Usually, it's learned together with the subject at hand(analysis, algebra), but you can come prepared. Book Of Proof by Hammack(might've misspelled that) is a good one. It's free online. Very similar to working out at the gym when you engage in a sports discipline whether thats boxing or gymnastics.
