Similar to "Risk = (chances of <whatever> happening) x (consequences of <whatever> happening)".
Most people equate risk as just the first term in the above, but if (for example) you're walking along a balance-beam, the difference in consequence is what makes it risky to balance on a beam between rooftops as opposed to one on the ground.
