If they’re keeping the car for 40k miles as they state, there’s plenty to test and review in a car while waiting for a 1500mi break in period. I don’t see why they wouldn’t respect it as journalists.
And even if they didn’t fully follow spec, having the engine literally explode after a few hard pulls immediately afterwards is a horrible outcome. No engine should do that, as there’s bound to be plenty of regular users that don’t actually wait the full 1500mi period.
