It's also super cute!

I also suggest http://reddit.com/r/unixporn: it's very popular and inspiring. The name is ironic, it's SFW themes.

But after reading the comments on your links, I don't understand if there's a hate for theming in general, or just for cute themes?

Is it a reference to what "bronies" are? (old guys who have a fetish on My Little Poney)

I feel it's one of those internet subcultures where half the people visibly giving it shit are participants of the subculture doing so ironically as a meme.

When I discovered what bronies are, I found it a bit disturbing, but I try to respect their freedom of expression.

I just don't understand the negative comment because it's nice and cute.

So would say they come from participants of this subculture being offended?

Bronies are just fans of the show, 'Cloppers' are the ones that are sexual about it.
It's still very unnerving for people to be that into a children's TV show even if there's no sexual aspect to it.
Many people on the autism spectrum like my little pony because it teaches explicit social/friendship rules.
Oh I didn't know that!

I'm sorry if I mischaracterized anyone.

Thanks for the clarification!

Fair. People with autism (or other cognitive differences) are usually given a wide margin in what is and is not considered appropriate social behavior.
Apparently the australian kids show "bluey" has been getting popular with adults, and a lot of them are saying that the portrayal of caring family dynamics has been helping to heal their inner child/process childhood traumas. I suspect that mlp might have had a similar hook to some people
Aw, I thought that first link was Ponyo OS. Ponyo would be a pretty cute Linux theme.
I dig RebeccaBlackOS. Fairly amazing multi-seat Wayland live-cd image, based on Debian. Built-in remote desktop capabilities like Waypipe. Bash based session chooser/manager. https://github.com/n3rdopolis/rebeccablackos

i wish someone would bring back selina kyle linux, which was just opensuse but packed with all the legally dubious codecs and drivers and such that otherwise make it more of a pain to set up
